Mike is an accomplished real estate professional and the Managing-Member of MMJ Properties, LLC. Raised in Newton, KS and a graduate of Newton High School, Mike attended The University of Kansas where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design. In the pursuit of his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in industrial design from the University of Kansas, he was the recipient of a NASA award for his work on small autonomous aviation transportation.
Mike currently operates MMJ Properties, LLC, a property management company overseeing multiple company-owned rental properties as well as those owned by other clients. Concurrently, he is a residential real estate professional with Keller Williams Integrity brokerage in Lawrence, KS. Mike has been in his role at Keller Williams since 2015 and specializes in the sale of investment properties.
Previously, Mike worked in the fields of user-centered design, visual communication, project management, light construction and design/build installation.
Mike began charitable giving in 2002 when he became a donor to Trout Unlimited. From there, Mike expanded his charitable giving to include environmental groups such as: National Parks Conservation Association, National Park Foundation, The Nature Conservancy, The World Wildlife Fund, and Yellowstone Forever. Mike has been an active member of Lawrence Board of Realtors since 2015 and serves on the Education Committee. Mike has also been a member of the National Association of Realtors since 2015. Mike is a local event contributor and participant for Douglas County Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Douglas County Toys for Tots, The Lawrence Arts Guild, and The Kansas City Clay Guild.
He co-founded SproutHouse Supply LLC in Independence, Missouri in 2019 with Brianne and Matt. Mike is also Director of Business Development at Red Tractor Cannabis, a Missouri medical marijuana company.
Mike lives in Lawrence, Kansas with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two sons, Henry and Harrison.
